Katha Ankahee (transl. A Story Untold) is an Indian television drama series.Produced by Sunjoy Waddhwa under the banner of Sphere Origins. An official Hindi remake of Turkish series One Thousand and One Nights, better known as Arabian Nights.It stars Aditi Sharma and Adnan Khan. Katha Ankahee premiered on 5 December 2022 on Sony Entertainment Television, and streams digitally on SonyLIV.

Plot

Katha is a single mother whose primary job is architecture besides numerous secondary jobs while Viaan is calculated and cold hearted. Katha’s son Aarav is ailing from a blood cancer whose expensive treatment compels her to submit to her boss’ request of spending a night qith him. 

Viaan is only child and face his parents separation in his childhood. The viaan father died and his mother is extremely love his father still after his death. While viaan’s father left him and his mother before death ,these things effect viaan psychologically and He make the schema that all the girls are money heist. He trust nobody and internerly he wabts that there would someone who care him and appreciate himas his mother living in the rememberence of his father. 

The viaan’s friend and business partner is Ahsan whi is charming, loving qnd daring. Ahsan is expressive and remain in good mood most of the time. He is reason sometimes to bring smile on people faces. He is very close to viaan. 

Katha’s law’s are not with her , katha’s father in law consider her a bad girl who deprive him from his son Adi, katha’s husband. As Adi married katha without his parents permission,so his family not accept her. Katha’s son Arave get cure from blood cancer after bone marrow transplant. Nirga give her bone marrow to Arave and after that she begin to live with them on the insist of Katha and Arave.

Viaan just want to test katha as she is also like other girls that are money heist.  But after that he repent in his offer his guilt increases when he come to know about katah is single mother and her son was suffering from cancer

. Katha’s inlaws also attracted toword Arave and finally,they give permission to Arave to come their grandfather house. But katha sister in law consider it harmful for them as she think , Mr Garewal , katha’s father in law, might be give all his property go his grandson Arave and there will be nothing for granddaughters. She feel insecure and impose her insecurities to katha. 

Katha perform very will in his architecture job and crake a major project,so all the office get inspired by her. Ahsan has feelings for katha and try tu build a friendship relationship witha her. Ahsan tells his feeling to viaan but Viaan is unable to understand his own feelings for katha. Viaan also secretly likes katha. But katha’s life is all about her son and in the memories of her late husband.

When katha come to know about Viaan’s past from Ahsan ,as Ahsan tell her the reason why viaan are not able to trust people. Katha feel bad for viaan and then begin to understand the weird nature of viaan . Katha try to show little bit good and sympathetic attitude toward Viaan. Viaan like it and his feeling increasing day by day.

Ahsan has told his mother about his feelings for katha and his mother also very happy for him. She use to give tips to Ahsan to impress katha.she looks katha as good daughter in law and working woman.

One important aspect is that katha’s son Arave and viaan has become friends. But both are unaware from the reality of each other.

Production

Casting

  • Initially, Mohit Malik was in talks to play male lead “Viaan”, but couldn’t join due to his prior commitments.
  • Gashmeer Mahajani was also approached to play the male lead, but he refused. He revealed that he regretted rejecting the role.
  • Aditi Sharma as Katha, and Adnan Khan as Viaan were signed as the lead.
  • Samar Vermani and Sheen Dass was cast as the other lead.
  • In November 2022, it was confirmed Vishal Gandhi had a cameo appearance in the show.

Development

The series was announced by Sphere Origins for Sony Entertainment Television in October 2022. It is the remake of Kanal D’s popular Turkish soap opera Binbir Gece.

The series marks comeback for Adnan Khan and Aditi Sharma into fiction after COVID-19 pandemic and their first collaboration.

Filming

The series is set in Mumbai, shooting began in November 2022 and mainly shot at the Film City, Mumbai.

Release

The teaser of the series was released on 14 October 2022.It replaced Yashomati Maiyaa Ke Nandlala from 5 December 2022.

Critical reception

Times Of India commented on Sharma and Khan for “seamlessly fit[ting] into their parts”, and particularly noted the dialogue, the costuming and “[e]ven the Mumbai apartments” in which the production is filmed, but nonetheless faulted the program as “too slow with very few cheerful moments”.

Interesting points

The darama is about work life balance, single mother role . The other main thing is childhood trauma. In this case, the trauma is parents separation. The Early trauma or separation of parents influence badly on child life . Even when that child become adult his still face personally issues.
